Russia / Iran / Syria / Iraq / OEF Ad Hoc Update (13)

Anonymous expert compilation, analysis, and reporting.

A HUGE leap forward for Israel

  • Israel openly admitted attacking Iranians in Syria following an Iranian missile strike from Syria.
  • Israel responded and spanked Iran. They blew up a bunch of Iranian military and intelligence sites in Syria.
      • Munition storage sites
      • Military site located in the Damascus International Airport
      • Iranian intelligence site
      • Iranian military training camp
  • Israel warned Syria not to fire on the incoming missiles. Syria ignored that. Israel pounded the Syrian Air Defenses.
  • The missile strike on Israel? Israel’s Iron Dome shot down the Iranian missiles.
  • The IDF’s accompanying Strategic Communications (SC) deserve an inaugural spot in the SC Hall of Fame.

When the IDF says don’t fire on our retaliatory strike, they mean it.  As a result, the offending Syrian air defense systems were…  destroyed.

Israel Defense Forces on Twitter: “During our strike, dozens of Syrian surface-to-air missiles were launched, despite clear warnings to avoid such fire. In response, we also targeted several of the Syrian Armed Forces’ aerial defense batteries.…”

The IDF tweets are worth reading the entire thread – on Twitter.  Israel trolled Iran, big time. I wanted to include one showing a graphic.

Somebody in the Israel IDF has not only a great sense of humor, but they also honor Israel with wonderful strategic communications. I have a feeling this little exchange of pleasantries has been planned for some time.

Russia is entirely too quiet.

The most interesting development has been the significant package of airstrikes by the IDF against four Iranian / QUDS targets inside Syria, following an Iranian missile attack against Northern Israel. Six Syrian IADS targets were hit, including at least one new 96K6 Pantsir S1 / SA-22 fire unit. To date, IDF footage released clearly shows only the SA-22 kill. Unclear whether the SA-22 system was being jammed or the crew was simply incompetent, also unknown whether the SA-22 was crewed by Russian VKS or Syrians.

Updates on Iran sanctions, Syria, Turkey, and other related matters.

Israel Defense Forces on Twitter: “Look at what Israeli families skiing in northern Israel saw above them yesterday… #StopIran… “

Israel Defense Forces on Twitter: “By firing towards Israeli civilians, Iran once again proved that it is attempting to entrench itself in Syria, endangering the State of Israel & regional stability. We will continue operating determinedly to thwart these attempts.…”

Israel Defense Forces on Twitter: “We have started striking Iranian Quds targets in Syrian territory. We warn the Syrian Armed Forces against attempting to harm Israeli forces or territory.”

Israel Defense Forces on Twitter: “During our strike, dozens of Syrian surface-to-air missiles were launched, despite clear warnings to avoid such fire. In response, we also targeted several of the Syrian Armed Forces’ aerial defense batteries.…;

  1. A new 96K6 Pantsir S1 / SA-22 fire unit could be seen online being hit by the Israelis. Did you see it? It seems that Israeli ECM made that possible. Both the Russian battery’s late response and its missiles crooked flight paths can probably be accredited to Israeli ECM. I doubt the Russians cannot figure that out for themselves even thou the video is removed from the site I saw it on.

I am who I am, just as brutally honest about other nation’s capabilities as my own nation’s capabilities and deficiencies. That doesn’t mean that I don’t care. I just believe in openness and honesty. I am not doing anything that not thousands of other laymen and professionals are doing. But I love the Israelis.
