Russia-Insider is considered a US corporation, it is incorporated in Connecticut and their website is considered in Arizona. Russia-Insider even says that everyone who works for Russia-Insider lives and works in Russia. They also receive input, they say, from volunteers inside the US and elsewhere.
Russia-Insider is widely considered pro-Russian, a Russian propaganda outlet.

Long time readers and Russia watchers know that one of the most odious pro-Kremlin sites in existence is Russia Insider.
Keep this in mind
First, a question to keep in mind as you read through this. Why is Russia-Insider and their employees not considered Foreign Agents of Influence (The Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA), Title 22 U.S.Code § 611 et seq (1938))?
Second, according to the mailing from the founder, editor, and publisher, Charles Bausman, at the bottom of this blog, readership is increasing steadily. To the United States, this means more anti-American propaganda circulating, unrestricted and without oversight. At the same time, in Russia, similar efforts promoting Western interests, are severely restricted and subject to arrest on spurious charges. Opposition efforts in Russia are stifled, harassed, and often end up dead. How is Russia-Insider allowed to operate as a US entity while spreading such odious pro-Russian propaganda, unmonitored?
Third, does Russia-Insider declare donations as income in the US? Do they pay taxes in the US? Are they officially recognized by the US? How are they allowed to keep a US address for incorporation if they exist wholly outside the US?
I realize Freedom of Speech, Freedom of the Press, and the First Amendment. As a widely recognized instrument of Russian propaganda, shouldn’t they categorized and their web-site be marked as such?
To provide some context, I present this article from November 23, 2015. Is Russia Insider sponsored by a Russian oligarch with the ties to the European far right?
I’m not saying shut them down, but make them include a disclaimer on their pages that they actually are working on behalf of the Russian government. They’re certainly not working on behalf of the country, the US, which provides them the freedom to express their pro-Russian, anti-US perspectives.
Just the facts – All Open Source
Here is how Russia-Insider describes their origins:
It was started in September 2014 by a group of expats living in Russia who felt that coverage of Russia is biased and inaccurate (http://russia-insider.com/en/about).
Whois information. This is why they are sometimes considered a US entity.

Russia Insider is actually using The Rocket Science Group LLC in Atlanta (http://rocketsciencegroup.com/ ), GA, to disseminate its propaganda, which applies a variety of IPs, e.g.: 220.127.116.11, 18.104.22.168, 22.214.171.124, etc. I guess they are clients of Rocket Science Group and are using their services.
Here is the truth about Russia-Insider which is buried just a wee bit.

“We are launching our first crowdfunding campaign on the largest American platform, Kickstarter at the end of Febraury 2015, and intend to run campaigns regularly on both Western and Russian platforms for the coming years.
Our Kickstarter page – Please donate!”
This is what got me alarmed. Russian propagandists are openly operating inside the United States and not registered as a foreign agent, a Russian agent of influence, or acting on behalf of a foreign government. Please note his IP address is 126.96.36.199, or Atlanta, GA, but he’s probably using a TOR browser.
