Any Israeli attack on Iran will open with a “coordinated strike, including an unprecedented cyber-attack which will totally paralyze the Iranian regime and its ability to know what is happening within its borders,” American blogger Richard Silverstein wrote Wednesday.
Silverstein claims to have obtained an Israeli briefing document outlining the Jewish state’s war plans against Iran, which, according to him, include the launching of dozens of missiles, an aerial attack, a sophisticated cyber attack and even the assassination of senior Iranian military and intelligence officials.
Now, my comments.
Wow, a cyber attack in advance of a conventional attack? Good concept. I hope it works.
But, what worries me is if anyone in their right frigging mind would leak war plans of Israel attacking Iran?
Think for a second of all the different permutations. I can think of: a, it’s a real war plan. b, it’s a deception, completely false. c, it’s a deception based on a real plan so there are some elements of truth. Just for arguments sake it was a deliberate leak, approved at the MoD level.
Wow, what a concept, tell the whole plan, truthfully. Honestly, it’s not a bad idea but make Iran think its a fake, meant to throw them off. The problem is there are only so many ways for Israel to attack Iran, so by telling the truth you will have to reveal a certain amount of real war plans. If I were Iran I would assume the plan is real and I couldn’t be too far off.
A completely false deception plan. Even if it were fake, it must be based on a certain amount of truth, otherwise it would look incredibly fake. So, defending against a completely fake plan will undoubtedly give Iran some warning. Same thing for the deception plan based on the truth..
Now let’s assume the leak was not deliberate, some snitch on the planning staff disagreed with the plan, probably because he or she offered an option and it wasn’t used. Scum bucket. I can only hope the plans are numbered and now they have yours…
