Match ends, Bristol Rovers 6, Darlington 0.
Bristol Rovers breezed into the third round of the FA Cup as they hammered non-league Darlington to earn new Pirates boss Paul Tisdale his first victory in his third game since taking charge.
National League North side Darlo, who had not made the third round proper since the club reformed in 2012, had headed south with high hopes after four straight away wins.
But the 62-place gap between the two sides showed as Rovers, 21st in League One, finally produced their first goals under Tisdale - four of them coming in 18 first-half minutes.
The visitors actually started well, holding out until the 29th minute when Rovers broke through with a freakish opener.
Josh Hare's long hopeful punt forward ballooned backwards up off defender David Atkinson's head and over his keeper Johnny Saltmer, and Daly nipped in to touch the ball over the line.
Rovers went 2-0 up after 38 minutes when Hare was fed by Luke McCormick before finishing with the outside of his right foot.
Atkinson's afternoon got worse a minute before half-time when he barged Daly to the deck and Luke Leahy tucked away the penalty.
There was even time for another before the break when Erhun Oztumer shared a neat one-two with Sam Nicholson which took him into the box, the ball broke kindly and he slotted home
Eight minutes after the restart, the lightweight Daly won another penalty when he went down very easily under a challenge from outraged defender Tony McMahon and Leahy sent the keeper the wrong way for his second successful spot-kick.
There was further anguish for McMahon when his well-struck effort - Darlo's best chance - was brilliantly tipped onto the post by Rovers keeper Anssi Jaakkola.
But almost immediately, Rovers grabbed their sixth from Nicholson's unmarked far post header after Max Ehmer had headed on, equalling their biggest FA Cup win.
